FAQ Inkjet Media

We have the UV glossy and UV matte laminating film. They differ in terms of appearance.

The laminating films are used to add finishing effects to the media, like photographs, wherein you are asked if you prefer to have it glossed or matte. In addition, laminating films prevent smudges in prints once it comes into contact with moist or wet surfaces. Laminating films prolong the life of the printed material like plastic covers do in books.

You only need to have the UV laminating film and a cold laminating machine.

Media differ in a lot of ways:
Effect – matte or glossy
Printable side – single or double sided printability
Micron – thickness of the media
type – photopaper, PP paper, sticker, board, transfer paper and laminating film

There are the white and transparent printable stickers.

They can be used in personal and commercial labels, car pass, bumper stickers, murals, POP displays, menu boards, window displays and many more.

They can be used in printing posters, photographs, calling cards, memos, souvenirs and many more.

An obvious, but sometimes overlooked tip is to make sure your substrate is clean and damage free – check for any nicks or cuts before each heat transfer. Sometimes the surface of your substrate may have a protective coating – remember to remove any foreign coating.
It’s generally a good idea to add a bleed to your images / artwork before printing. A bleed can be created by enlarging the image background so that it is approximately 1/8” larger than your substrate. Depending on your image type, it may also be useful to employ a gradient fade when enlarging your image.
Ideally your original image size should equal the print size. Resizing a bitmap image in a graphics program like photoshop results in a loss of image quality since the graphics program must add additional pixels to the image. On the other hand, vector images are resolution independent and can be resized without any loss of image quality. Unfortunately vector image are not suitable for photo realistic images.
